Boyum Barenscheer is pleased to announce that Charlie Metzig has been appointed Managing Partner of the firm.

Charlie has been with Boyum Barenscheer for over twenty years and was appointed a Partner in 2015. Starting as a Staff Accountant, Charlie has been able to watch Boyum Barenscheer grow into the firm it is today. “I’m honored and excited to take on the new role as Managing Partner at Boyum Barenscheer.  In the twenty years that I’ve been at here, I’ve watched our firm grow by establishing and developing relationships with clients in varied industries, large and small, non-profits and large corporations.”  Charlie continues, “We got to where we are today by earning our clients’ trust and never taking that for granted. I will continue to ensure that professional fulfillment and personal growth for our partners and staff is paramount and that Boyum Barenscheer continues to live up to the great reputation of our 46-year legacy as a firm.”

Charlie attributes his professional growth to the guidance of the former Managing Partner, Tom Margarit. “It’s a privilege for me to take over from Tom.  I started here in 2001 and sat right outside his office.  Over the years, I learned a lot from him about client relationships and about thinking outside of the box.  We had similar backgrounds growing up, with family-owned businesses, and those experiences truly taught us entrepreneurial mindsets. I hope to carry on his great leadership that has brought us this far.”

Tom Margarit shared “Charlie is well-positioned to take on this leadership role.  His strong entrepreneurial background will help the firm grow and evolve while still maintaining the excellent service that you have come to expect from Boyum Barenscheer.  His contagious energy brings a new outlook, and I look forward to watching the firm advance under his leadership.”
