Boyum Barenscheer Elects New Partners for 2020

Their expertise and exceptional leadership will continue to support and contribute to our firm’s growth and commitment to delivering superior quality and service to our clients.”

Becky Gibbs, CPA joined the firm in 2008 and quickly took hold in the Audit Department.  Her past experience of accounting, documenting and implementing internal controls and acquisition assistance has added value to her attest engagements.  Becky goes beyond the audit by assisting organization leaders in bringing their accounting records into compliance.  Her audit work is focused on construction, manufacturing, leasing and nonprofits. Becky holds a BS in Accounting and Finance from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

Bill Kayl, CPA, MPA has over 30 years of tax experience ranging from Big Four firms to local practices. His focus is primarily on flow through and transaction/structuring based on tax consulting and compliance services for owner-managed businesses.  His role in the firm’s Tax Department is invaluable.  Bill enjoys giving of his time and experience by teaching and mentoring the younger staff.  Bill holds a BA in Political Science and MPA from the University of South Dakota.

Jake Kriegler, CPA joined the firm in 2005 directly from the University of Minnesota.  From the onset, Jake’s presence in the Audit Department was quickly defined.  While he works in all areas of audit, he has become a leader of the team that services the firm’s employee benefit plan audits.  Jake enjoys getting to know the operations of each client he works with in order to help them find areas for improvement and efficiency in their processes and financial reporting.  Jake holds a BA in Accounting from the University of Minnesota-Carlson School of Management.

Nick Swedberg, CPA, QuickBooks Advanced ProAdvisor joined the firm in 2008 and has become a leader in client service.  His tax planning and preparation work along with CFO services for clients led him to play a large part in the firm’s Business Advisory Services Department.  Nick is a sought-after Certified Advanced QuickBooks ProAdvisor which brings added value to his small business clients as they look to streamline their accounting processes.  A significant portion of Nick’s client service work is in the restaurant and brewery industries.  Nick holds a BS in Accounting from Minnesota State University Moorhead and an AA in Liberal Arts from the Minnesota State Community and Technical College.

Chris Wittich, MBT, CPA came to the firm in 2007 and quickly made his mark in the firm’s Tax Department.  Chris works with individuals, businesses, trust and estates, and expats providing tax planning and compliance services.  He enjoys challenging research projects as well as training others in all things tax.  Chris’s passion for educating others is evident as he is a frequent blogger and speaker on tax related subjects.  His area of specialization is in international tax.  Chris holds a BA in Accounting and an MBT from the University of Minnesota-Carlson School of Management.
